Need help at home poker game?

Ok, I need some advice dilemma is the home poker game. Let's say someone goes all-in and the other person asks for they calculate it. Better answers to 6000 and the caller's phone calls based on that count. When all is said and done, the person really was 8000 Is the caller required to to pay the whole 8000, although even better just said during the 6000 number. Just to clarify, not the "seller" or the floor person. What is protocol for the situation. Thanks in advance.
