poker party invitations

I would like to host a game night. My home is open plan so I'm going to put games on the tables?

three rooms. Each table (there 6) feature a game like poker, dominoes, scrabble, board game, etc.. . Should be 24 people ages 19-50. Does that sound like a lame idea, or if you received an invitation to the party, such as this what would be the true feelings involved? Furthermore, what would be a good snack, then start at around 18:30 so I'm pretty sure that people have eaten if but if you think I should provide more subtantial food, please give me some ideas. I would like honest people.

I think it sounds good idea. When the party starts 6:30 would be the food. This is the most people at dinner time. You could do something simple. Make a series of wraps, ham, turkey or roast beef with lettuce tomato and cheese cut them in half serving chips potato salad, cole slaw. Poker, scrabble, yatzee, Cranium, all great games are great time.
