How does a motorcycle Poker Run work?

Poker Run (also known as Poker Derby), invented by William Taylor (and Powerboat Magazine) events have been organized using a motorcycle, boat, car or other transportation where participants travel over predesignated route and at designated stops on the route, draw playing card (s). The goal is to get the best poker hand at the end of term. Prizes (usually cash prizes) are awarded for the best hand, some passes will be granted lower than in the hands of smaller prizes. Poker will usually require the payment comes, part of the fee goes to funding the event (including prizes), the rest goes to the event the reason (usually some form of charity). Specific rules and details will vary, depending on the event. In addition, each participant is responsible for the integrity of the retain their cards during the run.
