The question of converting the coffee table should be at the poker table?
I wanted to build a table for some time now, but I'm short of money. My neighbor gave me a free coffee table that I want to convert handsome poker table. I search google, this is very similar and the coffee table I have worked with. I entered in two parts I'm going to ask as A and B. It is http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w133/xaviationud/Untitled-1-2.jpg, I have Photoshop, it is lighter. I want to remove this middle part of the poker felt stretched over and stapled with a staple gun, then stick it back in place. Part B, and the remaining piece, I want to re-stain it cherry-finish, which I have a dull brown. I think the question is how to strip off the central part, without destroying the table? I would like to thank you for the show This when its ready … http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w133/xaviationud/finish.jpg
If you are a focal point of ruin, it's not a big deal. Once you pull that piece out, it is likely that never fit flush again. In addition, I would think you should make some more changes to be felt. Assuming Inlay is tight, you're going to be difficult to add a blanket and get it to fit back into place. What you may consider trying to remove the center of the intact and create a poker felt replacement. Use plywood, foam and felt, and to build a separate inlay. So you do not Destory the original copy (with the exception of removing it from the table). Knowing more precisely, it can not or will not work – that is, your idea may work better than I imagine. For a completely different (and cheap) conversion just to get the feel and make the deck table. Measure it, and sew, you can create a flexible and install the cover. To find a cushion to slip underneath and you're set. It would not be so clean, but you do not need to change the table at all.
