hiring a site designer?

I want to start online poker site with a completely different concept. Do I need to get a copyright or patent or something protect a new concept? also who is the best / cheapest to design this site?

There are many good web designers, but good cheap and does not go hand in hand. You must pay for quality! A good designer can not be expected to work in vain. You really get what you pay for. Prior to hire someone to design it, to interview them and see other sites they have designed. Do not just assume that they can deal with it and please do not use first person that comes along. Make sure that they can really do what it is that you need! Also get references and call them! Ask not only how good they are at work, but also how easily they work, how easy they are contacted, how quickly they work, etc. When you decide on someone to come up with together with a written agreement so have less chance of problems later on. Working w / o contract does not require any effort – on both sides. Remember to allow the continued payment as it provides ongoing updates and maintenance. Sites such as this not only once setup fee. To find a designer, do not just see the Yellow Pages. Many of the good does not even advertise, because they can get their work orally. You can find them by calling your local printers, who are working freelance designers (many of the designers did not print and web design) or ask around if you know of local businessmen. If it is really a new concept, you should talk to a lawyer about it. Call for free consultation and see if they can help you – and get a professional opinion. Good luck with the site.
