starting poker hands odds

Our last article, we looked at all the nicknames of Pocket Pairs you would possibly get when playing Texas Hold 'Em. We now continue our review these pet names by looking at some of the non-pair starting hands, special names attached to them.

Ace-King: Big Slick; Anna Kournikova (looks good, rarely wins), Machine Gun (AK-47), "Walking Back to Houston" (which is due to the following quote is a poker legend TJ Cloutier: "I see you have learned in Houston. The Houston and Dallas players should play the ace-king, but'd always end up against two aces. Therefore, we call that hand 'Walking back to Houston. ")

Ace-Queen: Little Slick, Doyle Brunson

Ace-Jack: Black Jack (for obvious reasons)

Ace-Ten: The A-Team, Johnny Moss

King-Queen is compatible with: Royal Marriage

King-Queen offsuit: mixed-marriage

King-Jack: Kojak

King-Jack offsuit: Bachelor (Jack-King off)

K-9: Hand of the Dog (K-9 Dog =)

K-3: King Crab

Queen-Jack: Maverick (the theme song the old television program is described in the title character of "Livin 'out of queens and jacks)

Queen-Ten: Q-Tip, Varkonyi (named after the 2002 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Robert Varkonyi)

Queen-Three: San Francisco Server (Queen and Trey)

Jack-Ten: Cloutier (play on the name of poker great TJ Cloutier)

Jack-Eight: Jeffrey Dahmer (Ate Jack)

Jack-Five: Motown, Jackson Five

Jack-Four: flat tire (Jack What's this?)

Ten-Five: Five and Dime

Ten-Four: Over and Out, Good Buddy (CB radio play-code)

Ten-Deuce: Doyle Brunson

Six of the nine: Dinner for two (Put the numbers differently. If you're still confused, to hold the table with your parents.)

Nine-Five: Dolly Parton (from the song and the movie Nine to Five)

Nine-Four: Gold Rush, San Francisco (again, put the numbers the other way around)

Seven of Six: Philadelphia, Union Oil, Trombones

Seven-Five: Heinz, ketchup (Heinz because the fifty-seven varieties)

Three of the seven: Hachem (on the other hand, this is a 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Joe Hachem of the final hand the tournament. He flop directly.)

Seven Deuce offsuit: Hammer (worst starting hand in Texas Hold 'Em, in spite of what any number of internet poker bloggers will tell.)

Seven Deuce is compatible with: Velvet Hammer

Five Four: Colt 45, Moneymaker (named after the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker. This was the second, it was the final hand, and the main event.)

Now, you may have noticed that Doyle Brunson is not one, but two hands named after him. There are reasons. First off, He Doyle Brunson, so Who are we to believe? Another Ten-Deuce is named after the Texas Dolly, as he won two consecutive World Series of Poker main events with precise hand. Ace-Queen, on the other hand, is named after him, because it is his less than The best hand, and he has long not imply that he knows the hand is nothing but trouble.

So now you know very well all the nicknames, which may relate to your two-card Texas Hold 'Em starting hands. You may also be able to create some of their own! So, head out, press tables, drop the hammer and Dolly Parton, if you get the chance.
